On December 20, official from MOFCOM Department of Trade in Services and Commercial Services made a statement on China’s imports and exports of services in January-October 2017.
In January-October 2017, the import and export of trade in service reached 3869.17 billion yuan, up 9.9% year on year. Among these, the export was 1242.68 billion yuan, up 10.9%; the import was 2626.49 billion yuan, up 9.4%; the deficit was 1383.81 billion yuan.
The official from MOFCOM Department of Trade in Services and Commercial Services pointed out that in January-October 2017, the major features of the imports and exports of service trade were as follows:
1. The import and export in the emerging service areas have continued to maintain the rapid growth since this year. In January-October, import and export in the emerging service areas amounted to 1176.47 billion yuan, up 12% year on year. Among these, the export was 588.77 billion yuan, up 11.7% year on year, 0.8 percentage points higher than the overall growth. The import was 587.69 billion yuan, up 12.2%.
2. The import and export in traditional service areas increased stably. In January-October, the export and import of traditional services reached 2664.13 billion yuan, up 8.8% year on year.
