On January 9, 2018, witnessed by the two heads of China and France, Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and French Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing the Council of China-France Entrepreneurs. According to the memorandum, the Council aims to establish an exchange platform for the two countries’ enterprises and provide an efficient communication channel between the government and enterprises to practically promote the economic and trade cooperation between China and France.
The heads of the two countries jointly met with the entrepreneurs attending the 1st meeting of the Council of China-France Entrepreneurs and made speeches respectively. The founding meeting and the primary reunion of the Council of China-France Entrepreneurs were held in the Great Hall of the People. Both sides discussed the initiative cooperation in commercial manufacture, information technology, digital economy, financial investment, medicine and e-commerce and offered suggestions for the Council. About one hundred Chinese and French enterprise representatives attended the meeting.
