The 7th Joint Conference of the 12th China International Fair for Investment &Trade Held in Beijing

On the morning of June 6, 2008, the 7th joint conference sponsored by executive institutions of the 12th China International Fair for Investment &Trade was held in Beijing. Chen Shaohe, Deputy Bureau of Fujian Provincial Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Huang Ling, Vice-mayor of Xiamen, Huang Heming, Director of Xiamen Investment Promotion Centre and Liu Yajun, Head of Xiamen Investment Promotion Bureau attended the conference. Meanwhile, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China Department of Foreign Investment Administration, Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation, and Fuzhou Office also sent persons to attend the conference. Fujian Provincial Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Xiamen municipality, and Xiamen Investment Promotion Bureau respectively introduced the recent preparation work of investment talks and several pieces of work urgently implemented in the next stage, and attached the importance to such work as joint, coordination, and implement on aspects including forum discussion, exhibition preparation, businessmen invitation, project matching, promotion and introduction as well as logistic support. Cao Hongying, Deputy Commissioner of Fuzhou Office put foreword some proposals in the speech, supported by units attending the conference, which are as follows: 1.This year, Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake is an event, so the Fair shall present care for the disaster areas in aspects such as exhibition unit prices when the whole country is exerting efforts to offer help. 2. The joint conference of the Fair should lay emphasis on report memorandum and shall check the implement of the last report memorandum at every meeting. 3. It was suggested that next joint conference be held in Xiamen for the sake of work due to the approach of 9.8 conference date.
